Security for API Access

Secure connections are established with the Nathean Analytics Platform via utilising UserTokens and
Authentication Key. The use of which are outlined below.

User Tokens

To allow for a secure connection to be established with the Nathean Analytics server it is necessary to call the
Login API prior to calling any other API. The Login API will return a UserToken which will be needed
for subsequent API access. The UserToken which is returned via the Login API will have the same
permissions to the Nathean Analytics Platform as the User which is used as part of the call for the Login API.
Therefore it is recommended that a new “API User” is created in the Nathean Analytics System which only has
access to the areas in the system which you which data to be accesses from the API.

Authentication Key

The Authentication Key is a fixed string is configured by your Account Manager when the Platform is
being configured. Please contact your Account Manager for your Authentication Key.

Failed API Request due to lack of Permissions

If a user does not have sufficient access to the Nathean Analytics Platform and a requested is made via that user
account the message below will be returned.

{\Message\“Authorization has been denied for this request.\”}
