When you add a spreadsheet to Nathean Analytics, you actually record a link to the location of the file rather than importing the spreadsheet. This means that users can access the same spreadsheet with Microsoft Excel and at the same time through Nathean Analytics. The benefit of accessing the spreadsheet through Nathean Analytics is that as it’s a managed document, access to the spreadsheet observes the permission structures in Nathean Analytics and any changes to the spreadsheet are recorded in the audit.
To add a spreadsheet, open the spreadsheet module and click the Add Spreadsheet button.
Set the Spreadsheet Name and Display Name to the name you wish to use. The Display Name is the version which the end users will see.
Then record the location of the file. You can press the test button to ensure that the file is accessible by Nathean Analytics. Only files which are accessible by the account under which the server is operating on are accessible.
